Finally Friday

And oh, it never feels wrong! Even after staying home from work today. I've been low on energy all week and having a cold. Then  I got a blather infection last night. Joy.. Not much fun, without going into details. But I'm throwing down lemon water like a champ and hoping it will go away! Sadly I didn't make it to Los Lobos today, to show my creations. I was too afraid of leaving the safety of the nest and having a nearby toilet.. But I made a new appointment with the girls for next week, excited:)

One good thing got out of the day, I had all the time in the world to sit down and work on some details around my soon to be opened, online shops on Epla and Etsy. Epla is a norwegian page, much like Etsy, but mostly norwegian artists. I also made a Facebook page for my creations, which has been in the back of my mind for a while now..

I also got to check out some alternatives for wrapping and packaging on my way home from work yesterday. I popped by one of the art stores down town, it's allways fun to see what they have and get inspirered! I want the wrapping to look nice, leaving the customer with the feeling of receiving, and opening a gift:) I also think it's important that the wrapping matches the shop design and colors in some way. Tags and cards will be made by me, an other creative prosess to get through!

I'm sitting here with a warm feeling of achieving something today and moving a bit forwards, an other step towards my dream. All these practical details around starting a business, sometimes I think to myself "Jeeeez, what have I started".. At the same time it feels great! Great because it's mine, something of my own and that I've created. Something I wanted for so long.. It's all very exciting and I know with myself that I can't stop now;)

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, ideas or advices to come with:) Maybe you have experience with opening something of your own? How did you go about it?

Sweet Friday Finds

An other friday, an other week of finds! I bring you some more lovely vintage finds, from my favourites on Etsy.. Maybe you'll discover something you didn't know you needed, I do all the time;)

I love'em all, but I especially love the stool and the juice machine! But how the h*** to get them shipped to Norway? It would probably cost more than it taste.. *Argh* I hate to say it, but I know my bank account would most definitely be better off with that cute, little apron... Which one is your favourite?

Happy Jolly Friday everyone!!;)

Dreamcoat

Winter is soon over, but after searching all winter I finally found the perfect winter coat! There it was, on Etsy of course. I love the full skirt, the vintage look and the cute bowtie detail in front.. *Sigh* Must have! It's a bit on the expensive side, but I think it's all worth it as it's tailored and seems to be good quality, which will last for many winters more.

The designer offers some slight changes on the coat, if desired. Like a different color on the lining of the coat, with a hood, without the bowtie, or a single row of buttons instead of double buttoned etc.. I love it the way it is, though I'm thinking a hood might be nice for those cold winter days.

The designer behind this wonderful coat is Tatyana Merenyuk, a talented designer originally from Kiev in Ukraine, now living in New York.. It seems that a lot of her inspiration comes from her childhood in Ukraine.. "From an early age she had a taste for dress up and fairytales that gave her quite the imagination", "Her mother would always dress her up in dresses that she made and pass them down from her sister, but no matter what she was wearing she always looked like a little doll".. Which you can tell on her designs today. She has some amazing fairytale like dresses, that I can only dream about wearing one day...

Hoot Hooooot...

Believe me, I would be the first one to understand why someone would want an owl of their very own.. But the thought of keeping these beautiful and majestic birds, trapped in little cages for selfish reasons, is just horrible and more cruel than I can put into words! They should be out there, flying free, hunting mice and whatever else an owl does.. Shame on you!! I'll keep my admiration on a distance and leave them to mother nature, where they belong and maybe buy myself an owl item or two;)

Here's a few owl items that I have collected in my favourites on Etsy over the last few months... Most of them is still available in the stores they're from:)

Bat Boy Mugs & Female Logic..

This is what happends when I'm bored at work.. I go shopping cute, little, vintage, bat boy mugs and other goodies on Etsy... Which means what ever money I earned on working a few hours more today, went on shopping:) Haha But it was the most awsome little mug! It was love by first sight and I just had to have!! Mmmm and since the international shipping was 10$ for one item, and then 2$ for every additional item, I thought I would "save" some money on buying a few more items... Hhahahah lol I'm sure only women do this and actually find it totally logical in the spur of the moment!

My awsome new mug;)
