Happy New Years, New and Old Friends!!

Happy New Year, everyone!! Wish you all a wonderful 2015, with some of your dreams come true! If not all of them.. But it's good to have some to still wish for, I've heard it can get pretty boring otherwise.

Hope you all had a lovely time, with friends, family and close ones. That it turned out the way you dreamed of and you survived the intense, festive, fun, food oriented holiday season.. Both me and hubby, have almost had two weeks vacation. It's been such a relief to both mind and body, to spend some time at home. Focusing on other things than work and the daily chores. Best thing of all we only spent 3-4 days of our vacation days, since most of the days were bank holidays here. Hurray! Looking back, I'm not even sure what we spent all these days doing. In between family gatherings and parties that is. But maybe that's what a real vacation is about. Being able to reset your mind and take it slow for a while. What I do know, is that I feel ready for new challenges and the new year to come!

On the way to the New Year's party, with our good friends. Hubby started talking about his New Year's resolutions.. Guess I'm a bit of a party pooper there. I never really believed in those. I always seems that people make them, just to break them a few weeks later. I think that real change can come at any time of the year, it doesn't have to be new years to change up your life. But maybe one trick, is to make some that you actually can keep.. After telling me his, he turned to me and asked me what mine was. Honestly I hadn't thought about it. But as a spur of the moment resolution. Was not to open a bottle of wine/beer, I don't intend to finish lol.. Hubby of course thought it was a terrible one, as he thought my intensions was to become a vino lol. A nasty, stinky, crazy vino. I can see that. Not in my gameplan for this year. Just think I can do without, that last glass of wine at the party sometimes.

Giving it some further thougt, I can come up with at least one more. Not a very original one, but a good one. To keep loosing some weight. I put on some extra weight a few years ago, the happy relationship kg's (pounds). I managed to loose some this summer. Lets keep it that way and hope that my daily garden chores, will bring me down even more this spring. We're talking hard labour here, not some cute housewife flower shuffling, with a pink, flowery mini shuffle. It's wheelbarrowing, running with wheelbarrow, stone carrying, digging in the heavy ground, carrying and mixing soil, spreading soil that I dug up, digging up and getting rid of weed, planting bushes etc.. It's sweaty, heavy, muscle building and a real fat killer.

An other thing, is my party smoking.. Since hubby quit smoking this winter and is doing really well at it. (I'm so proud!) My party smoking seems a bit unfear, disloyal and very unneccessary, all the sudden. And not to mention unhealthy, even if it's not too often. Maybe it's time to fase it out and get rid of my nasty party habit...

What about you? Any New Year's resolutions, or are you like me, a non believer?

Remedy for The Cold

Finally feeling better again! *Yay* Hard to explain, but I went on the annual Christmas party at work and seems that it made wonders, to my sick, cold ridden body. Not sure if it was all the yummi food, the alcohol (plenty of wine and beer), or the fact that I had silly good time, that made wonders for the system. Neither do I care. It worked. I expected to feel worse then ever, when I woke up the next morning. Instead my cough was almost gone and on Sunday I felt even better. It feel like I went from 0-100 in a night. Hurray!! So long you bitch of a cold, hope to stay well for a while now.

You been to any fun Christmas parties yet, or maybe have some coming up soon?

Wish you all a wonderful Tuesday!

Happy Holidays to Everyone!!

Wish you all the best for the holidays and the New Year!! Hope you all are having a wonderful time with friends and family! We're on the third day of Christmas and closing in to the big night, New Years Eve. I'm lucky enough to have some days off from work. Some time for myself and my projects, fixing photos and finishing up an order on a fascinator. And last but not least; cleaning up the house, which looks like a small pig stie, after neglecting the growing piles of dishes and laundry for several days now.. I should be able to get it nice and shiny again, just in time for our New Years party!

We're having lovely Miss Lindy Lee and her man over, for New Years eve. Hopefully Miss E and her man, Kim will be joining us too! And maybe my sister. Not the biggest New Years party, but sometimes the smallest parties can also be the nicest and most memorable ones. The most important is the people that you are with I think, being with good friends is what counts on a night like this;)

What is your plans?

Our first Christmas tree (!!) and a peek at the Christmas decoration around my work space;)

Midsummers Eve

The night is nothing more than a two hours dawn here at the moment. It never gets really dark these days.. The sky has a beautiful dusk blue color with brighter, bluish grey, cotton looking clouds gliding over it.

The 21.June was the lightest day of the year for us living in the nothern hemisphere. Today, 23. June we are celebrating Midsummers Eve, or Sankthans as we call it in Norway. It is an old tradition and celebration, that dates back to the viking times with offerings. In later times the church changed it into a Christian celebration, celebrating St John the Baptist.

In Norway we celebrate Midsummers eve with small and big bonfires, music, food and partying that lasts all through the night. That's if we get the next day off.. We're not as lucky as the swedish, where the day is a national holiday. Some places in Norway they even throw paper withces on the fire. In old days, they thought it would keep the withces and bad spirits away!

This year me and my love will be heading out to visit Miss Lindy Lee and her man. They're having a moving in party, as well as a Midummers Eve party. Crossing fingers for nice weather and no rain, so we can dance naked around the swedish Midsummer Pole and wear flowers in our hair;) All according to swedish traditions.. *Cough* ya, maybe not the naked part. Skip the naked thing, but we'll have flowers!

Friday Tune - Wish you Well

The Friday tune this time is from our "mini concert", on Miss E's balcony 17th of May.. Our good friend Kim singing and playing the gitar. Quite far from what we heard him singing last time, on the concert with Meanstreak. A wonderful, mellow song about lifes twists and turns, which goes straight to the heart!

I'm not sure what the name of the song is, I'm horrible with names.. But maybe you guys know?

17th of May - National Day of Norway

Our National Day was celebrated with good food, champagne, wine, beer and wonderful company, at Miss E's balcony!! It was an all dayer with gitar playing, chatting and fun! We rounded up the night at New Anarkali, an indian restaurant on Grünerløkka. Super yummi food and great service! Will definitely be back.

Ps: I don't know how to play the gitar, but I do know how to improvise;)

My Birthday Bash

I had a wonderful evening and celebration of my birthday at Midnight Burlesque, on Friday the 8th of April!! The show was amazing and so was the girls! The whole show was such an uplifting and feel good experience. Great humour, fantastic costumes and sexy ladies that came in all shapes and sizes. I don't think I've been laughing that much in a very long time!

It also made me think about how we girls are way too critical about our own apparance.. That we have to stop thinking we're not good enough, when we are beautiful just the way we are! We don't have to look a certain way. We are all born different, so why stribe to look the same? Or in some way that very few women on this planet look like naturally. Stop worrying about cellulites, dimples, too big this, too small that, wrong shape, too short or long or what ever.. I say live your life and be happy, either you're a small, medium or large. Always remember that you are beautiful and unique!

Besides isn't imperfect what makes us and life interesting? Just like the imperfect is way more perfect, than anything perfect can ever be..

What do you think?

A small peek on the show from Friday, all snagged from the internet this time.. I was too busy watching to get the camera out of the purse:) hahha

Ps: I'll be coming with some more photos of the costume, hair and evening in a later post;)

Love Boat

Part from being in Copenhagen, we also had a wonderful time aboard the ship, on our anniversary trip this week! So good that we hardly slept the whole trip, we probably had around 8 hours of sleep all together, forth and back.. That's usually what I need for one day, or at least 6-7 hours to feel human. No need to say I was pretty tiered when we got back.. We both were. I was really happy I'd been forthseeing enough, to take the next day off!

These boat trips to Denmark is usually a bit like a human study.. There's so many different people aboard and you meet people you normally wouldn't meet back home. We're all stuck on the same boat, so naturally we end up talking and hanging out in the bar, with who ever is there. This time was no different, with everything from suits to industrial workers, a lubricant salesman, farmers and students.. We were quite an odd gang of people and 5 different nationalities:)

And of course of all places, my husband met a fellow american, who were preforming old country and rock music in the bar! Funny part was that he was from Las vegas, were we got married exactly two years ago:) Coincindence?

Colleague Surprise

Friday we had a house warming party at work, as we just moved to a new location.. The best part of the evening was the house band. As I soon discovered, we have some really good musicians at work! They rocked the roof off the office, like they've never done anything else. This is people that normally shuffle paper around their desk. Well, I guess it helps that they all play in a band in the spare time.. But it's not like they're living off it. It's wonderful to discover this creativity and get to know my colleagues in a different way than I usually see them. To see that there's allways new things to learn about people you thought you knew.. I'm not sure if it's me that needs to listen better, or maybe I didn't dig deep enough in the conversations. Spite of that we see each other every day and spend most of our awake time during a week at work. Some people even spend more time with their colleagues than their family, but when it boils down to it, how much do we really know about each other?

How well do you think you know your colleagues?

Last Hours of The Year

We had a really good time with Lindy and her man, before we headed down town to Caven and the concert. Lindy's yummi, swedish food and her homemade tiramisu for dessert. That woman can cook, what a housewife! I'll sure be there next year, with bells on:) We stumbled out in the cold at midnight, shot our firework, drank our champagne and had an amazing view over the firework in town!!

Concert was great, lots of friends and people we know showed up. Cheap beer, sparkling wine and a flooded toilett all contributed to a wet evening! I tried to pull out some plumber skills from my sleeve, but had to back off as I was standing in a pool of water with my nice, satin shoes and my new, red dress.. Not exactly dressed to stand with my head down some toilett! Haha

As predicted we didn't stumble in the door before early morning;) I was still full of energy from the evening and wasn't ready for bed at all.. My man crawled up in one corner of the bed, while I ended up watching something I don't remember what was.. Probably some show on Travel Channel, since I tend to watch it when I've been drinking.. Soothing for the soul and just enough excitement before bedtime when the world is moving! The day after a night out, I like watching it for different reasons. It's just rolling on like tidewave, no rappid movements that causes dizziness.. Soooothing! Hmmm and also I get to see the world while I'm laying flat out in the sofa, feeling sorry for myself.. That way the day isn't a total waste, I've been somewhere;)

Happy New Year!!!

Tonight will be celebrated with dinner and good company at Miss Lindy Lee and her man. In their wee appartment as they put it.. Don't think they know what small is, try this for a week;) It will be the first time that we visit since Miss Lindy Lee moved in with her man, since they've been redecorating the place. It will be really nice to finally get out there! Last few New Year Eve's, has been spent as a spectator at a safe distance when the firework is fired off.. But not this year, her man bought a bundle of firework we will be sending up at midnight! This will be fun!!

When the firework is sent up and the new year has been greeted, we'll be heading down town.. For concert with The Vanjas, at Caven Roc'n'Roll Club! I'm pretty sure we'll be dancing and partying away till the first, early morning hours of the year...

Happy New Years to everyone!! I wish you all the best in the new year to come!!! What ever your plans is for the night, I hope you'll have a great time during the last few hours of 2010 and as we cross over to 2011...
I wish everyone a fantastic evening, either you choose to consumate your champagne, or bade in it Dita Von Tease style..;)

Christmas Eve & Day

After an extremely cold walk and bus trip through winter wonderland, we arrived at a cozy, candle lite, Christmassie house at my parents. All the Christmas smells hitting us like a warm, welcoming blanket as we walked through the door... Tears were popping, my eyeliner running and thighs were numb, after venturing out in the cold -15C/5F evening.. Layers of warm winter clothes wrapped off, as high heels and stockings went on. A glass of champagne later, we felt more human again;)

The evening were celebrated with laughter, wine and great food! Like every year, turkey was on the menu and some light, salomon dish for starters.. Mom and dad had done a great job in the kitchen, it was just left for us to dig in and enjoy! After a very satisfying dinner we rolled over to the sofa for more food.. Christmas cookies, chocolates, marsipan, fruit and coffee, while presents were exchanged:) Me being "Santa" again handing them over..

We stayed over to next day and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas day breakfast-brunch-lunch with all sorts of goodies and wasn't home before late that evening, after my parents driving us home.. My sweet, wonderful parents!

I'm not sure how many more years there will be with Christmas dinner at my parents, something tells me that it's soon our turn to carry on the tradition.. Just in need of a bigger place! Something I'm looking forward to with a mixed feeling of joy and fright!! haha lol
