Rock On

A darker, more devious winter collection is on it's way from my brand, Devious Darlins'!! I've wanted to add some Scary Mary darkness to my items for a while now, without going totally queen of darkness. I love blending styles and making something that gives the little extra to an outfit.

The new collection has a dash of glam and roughness, blended in with nature and rock'n'roll. But still romantic and with a bit of Devious Darlin' cuteness to it! It shows my love for the darker influences and rock'n'roll style. It's for the rocker chic, either you're living the life or rockin' it at the office.

Scroll down for a sneak peak, maybe you'll find a favourite among these first goodies;) And don't be shy, I'd love to hear what you think!!

To the Islands

Last week we went on a small trip with Miss E, Kim and my sis, out to one of the islands, in the Oslo fjord. It's just a 10 minutes out with the boat, but it feels like being on the country side. So beautiful and peaceful, quite a contrast to the city! It was wonderful to escape the busy city life for a few hours:)

Same morning we also decided to take some photos for Devious Darlins', while out there. Seemed like a good idea, the perfect beautiful back drop for some photos of the Darlins'. Both Miss E and my sister are photographers, and good ones too. Miss E took most of the photos, while sis jumped in at the end;) Guess who got to model lol? We had lots of fun shooting them around the different type of nature we found on the island! Can't wait to see them!! Will share as soon as Miss E get them ready.

A few photos from the trip:)

In a Shop Near You

I delivered my creations to Los Lobos last Friday!! I've been working to reach this moment for some time now, and a lot of time and effort has been put into it.. It feels wonderful to finally have my stuff out there and available. Birds to the people!

I walked up there, to put the display up after work yesterday. After searching half the town for some nice branches to put my birdies on, I started to give up the idea of finding the kind I was looking for. I thought I'd have to go for plan B, my "Halloween branches". The ones I have in storage, that I pull out every Halloween, to hang bats and spiders on.. But as I walked up there, I decided to pop into this last flower shop that I passed by. And kiss my lucky star! He had two left from Christmas of the exact same kind I was searching for. Not only that, he gave them to me for free:) When it looks like all hope is out and so on..

Long story short, display is now up and I love the way it turned out!! Just like I had imagined! I forgot my camera at home, so I had to document it with my mobile phone. The colors is a little off and they're not as sharp as I could wish, but you get a little peek on how it looks. If you're in the area, go have a look;)

Also I received a wonderful review from Miss Margarita on her blogg, a couple of days ago! Thanks sweetheart!!

Tags & Wrapping

My company stamps finally dumped down the mailbox today:) Yeahiiii!! Things are really starting to get together! I'm just waiting for the product tags now, then I'm ready for business!! So exciiiiited, not sure what to do with myself. Trying to keep it together, but on the inside it's all bubbling and steaming. Keeping me awake and making it hard to sleep at night.

At work 'm all jawning and in a bit of a haze, even dobble espressos doesn't get through to me right now! lol What to do, what to do.. Think my mind is just working on high gear and I'm overloading myself with creative ideas. Ideas, create more ideas.. Like a growing plant out of control, with its tentacles everywhere, if you know what I mean?

Not sure how my man is coping with me at the moment. I feel like a teenager in love! With my company. Hahha

Some photos of the wrapping for my creations.. Check out my Devious Darlins' facebook page for more updates!

Burlesque Hairdo'

Lucky me got my hair styled for my Burlesque Birthday, by lovely Miss E! She's just finished the Adam & Eva hairdressers school and in need of hairmodels, a real win-win situation for both of us. She offered to do my hair burlesque style for the show the same evening, so said so done!

I spent all day on my birthday in the hairdresser chair. Chatting away with Miss E and the girls, reading magazines and drinking coffee. All while getting my hair cut, colored and beautifully styled at the end. As you can see by the photos, it was all held together with a hairnet and a thousand hairpins, at least. I think it turned out really lovely and was absolutely thrilled to have my hair done by someone! I love the old style to it and the hairnet:)

It was a really nice and relaxing way to spend my day, getting pampered and all. A real treat! Not every day I go get my hair styled by someone.. More like never! Haha Might be more often now, as Miss E needs to practice;)

I felt like a real diva on the tram, all the way back home! With my handmade, little black and white birdie fascinator, from my Birds Nest collection peeking out on the side. Looks rather comfortable up there, doesn't he? lol

Summery Creations

The last few weeks has brought promises of spring with it.. Today we even had thunder weather here in Oslo! That's something we haven't had for a while.. Also the birds has been singing and the sun has been peeking out for several days. Getting me in mood for spring and giving me some inspiration for more summery fascinators, with soft, happy colors and pretty flowers!

My latest fascinator, is the first one in my spring collection. I ordered up a whole load of yummi, summery spring flowers and will be ordering even more! I've been playing around with them this week, teaming them up into lovely little hairpieces.. Hopefully I'll have time to finish a few up before the end of this week. That way I should be able to show off some stuff to the girls on Los Lobos pretty soon.

All shown with a dotted, cream hat veiling that can be removed..

The two last two were done with more of an autumn feel to them, as that's what I had to work with.. But I think they can be worn any time of the year, just depending on what you wear!

I'm playing with the idea to add a needle behind the small fascinator with the yellow bird, so it can be used as a broche.. What do you think?

Lost in The Jungle

Most of last Sunday was spent joining tiny jewelery parts together into small creations. Swearing when I broke the tiniest, unwieldy parts and had to do it all over again, then cheering and clapping myself on the shoulder when it went well. Wishing I had tiny, little, chinese fingers instead of these big, norwegian sausages lol.. It's really escentual with good tools, but also a good portion of stubborness and determination! Hopefully I'll have my shop on Etsy in not too long.

I've been spending the last days searching for a nice shop design, an important step on the way. I have to find a design which look good with my crafts and also the shop name. Not the easiest in the jungle of designs, I feel a bit lost. You should think there's plenty to choose from. There is. But so far, not exactly what I've been picturing..

I'm starting to think I might have to get it custom designed, even if it means that it will cost a bit more it might be worth it in the long run.. Maybe I'm being too picky? Or maybe it's time to bring a bottle of wine over to my friend Melissa at Ideas To steal, to receive the help that I've been offered..

What would you do.. Go for the cheaper design for now, or get it right from the start?

Bringing you an other tiny peek at my creations..

Sunday Crafting

Part from a beautiful walk in the snow, Sunday was also spent by my work desk. I finally had some time to sit down with my crafts, it's been my bad conscience for a while now.. But with needle and thread and bent over tiny jewelery parts, I was working on my jewelery and hairpieces all evening. I was able to get through quite a bit and it's all starting to take form. Very satisfying to see that my "baby" growing and getting some flesh on my ideas. As I'm working new ideas spring to my mind, it feels good to be using my imagination.. It feel like it's what I'm supposed to do. I mean use the vivid imagination which I was born with and do something creative with it...

Here's a little taste of what I've been working on.. I'm dying to show off my jewelery designs, but I think it's better to keep it a little secret till the shop and everything is getting more ready;)

Tutu Skirt From Hell

After hours of sewing I finally got my costume together late last night... I fought and won, the battle over the tutu skirt! Though there were times i questioned that I ever would.. I know it sounds dramatic, but that's how it felt. lol The slippery material sticking together at all the wrong places, the 3meters/118inches long layers sliding away from each other and doing everything to anoy me. Not very patient I must admit, that must have went out the door with my ex.. I solved the slippery, sticking together problem by laying two heavy books on each side of the material, with a smaller area in the middle that I could sew. Then I moved it along as I got further down.. Worked wonders! A lot of swearing and cursing later I had made my first tutu, and without a sewing machine:)

Added some photos from the making of the costume.. (Huge spoiler allert, close your eyes Miss Lindy Lee and other guests to our humble Halloween soiree)...

Me working on the feather trimmed part of the costume...

Lovely feather trim found on Etsy

Where's a sewing machine when you need one..

Just look at the length of this thing..

Way! I made it!!
