Drunken Sailors

I'm back after some days of much needed rest, after the Halloween party.. Everything turned out really great, we had an awsome time! It's such a good feeling to gather friends to something like this. Seeing that everything turns out as planned and that everyone is enjoying themself. I think a good party can leave you with a real boost of energy and good wibes. This one surely did!

We had the Dead Sailors Inn full of tipsy and more or less drunken sailors, pirates, one mermaid, a demon, and a banana (!). The banana claimed she was sailors food and that we was more than welcome to take a bite. She handed out flyers with information to the sailors. Saying that bananas is good for scurvy and winter depressions. In case you wonder, she was still intact at the end of the night. I think all the Halloween candy we had strategically placed around the bar. might have saved her from a gloomy, ghastly death lol.

It was a wet evening, with rain showers that came and went. But it was warm. Turned out we didn't have to worry about the heat at all. We were so worried that people would freeze, so we went out and bought an extra heater that runs on gas. Instead it got really warm. So warm that our mermaid friend running around in her bra, thought it was just perfect. Me in my padded, chinese jacket and wool socks on the other hand..

Our very good buddy, Kim Lia. Gave us a hell of a concert and rocked the bar big time!! It was so awsome to have live music in our saloon. We have been talking and dreaming about it for a while now. Finally the dream got realized.. The best feeling! We're so greatful that Kim wanted to play for us. As my love put it: The best birthday and Halloween party ever!! Big words coming from an american.

I've added a few photos from the night..
More obscure photos, will be added in a later post!

Friday Tune - Crossroad

I'm back with the Friday Tunes and what is not better, than to start it off with some good ol' southern blues for you folks!! This time with the awsome Robert Johnson! Blues wouldn't be the same without him.

People say he sold his soul to the devil at the crossroad, and it sure sounds that way to me! The sound of his music sends shivers down my spine and transports me to Johnson land. I could listen to his music all night while dreaming of warm southern nights, in beautiful Mississippi.. I'll sure be sipping wine to this tonight, wanna join? Have a wonderful Friday ya'll;)

What's your plans for tonight?

Raining again..

The rain has been poring down from the sky, ever since we came back from our holiday.. And even before we left.. Will it ever stop? Some surfing on Youtube today, lead me to this song. My man tells me it's a Christian band from the US, I'm not religous so I guess that's why I haven't heard it before. But that's no reason not to listen to it, I think it got a nice sound to it and it fits quite perfect on a day like this! What do you think?

Hope everythings good on your side and that you're having a swell Sunday;)

Friday Tune - Wish you Well

The Friday tune this time is from our "mini concert", on Miss E's balcony 17th of May.. Our good friend Kim singing and playing the gitar. Quite far from what we heard him singing last time, on the concert with Meanstreak. A wonderful, mellow song about lifes twists and turns, which goes straight to the heart!

I'm not sure what the name of the song is, I'm horrible with names.. But maybe you guys know?

Meanstreak

A peek at the concert with Meanstreak this Tuesday! I also added a video with the band that came after them, Paranoid Androida. Sorry to say I was standing quite far away on that one, so wasn't able to get the same quality on it as with Meanstreak..

Meanstreak Concert - Rock In

My days isn't solely about shop and brand making.. I rewarded my hard work with a night off and concert on Rock In, a metal club in down town Oslo. To see our friend Kim play with his band, Meanstreak! I pulled on my leather daisy dukes and T-shirt for a night with metal fun, beer and good friends;)

Concert was awsome!! Not what I usually go to see, or listen to at home. But music was great, bands were fab and met some new cool people:) Among them, the host from the burlesque show I went to on my birthday! Also had a great time with wonderful Miss E and friends!!

The Queen of Rockabilly

Here's a wonderful piece of rock'n'roll history for you guys! With the song Fujiyama Mama, from the rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson. Isn't she just the best, I love the sound of her voice! It's so raw and powerful!! Just what I need today, after a long day at work and still going on;)

Tell me about your favourite artist, or maybe a favourite tune from the old days?

Hula-Ba-Luau by The Andrew Sisters

With the sun shining the allmost every day for the last few weeks now, bringing us one step closer to spring day, by day.. I can feel it tingeling in every limb of my body and I'm slowly waking up from a winter in hybernation!

With that, I'm bringing you some summery, jungle, Hawaii inspirered rythms, with The Andrew Sisters!! Don't you just love those little drums, they have on their hips? Have to get one for my summer outfit;)

Friday Tune - Red Hot

An other Friday tune coming your way, here from Scary Mary's. This time I'm giving you Billy Lee Riley with Red Hot, a steaming hot rock'n'roll song from the mid 50's! It seems impossible to sit still when I hear this, it makes me wanna dance around on the floor like a nutcase. Who cares if the neighbours can see me?

Friday is slowly ticking over into Saturday in my part of the world, while some of you still have some hours left. Where ever you are and what ever you are doing, I wish you a great Friday and what's left of it;)

The Andrews Sisters - Rum & Coca Cola

Friday at Scary Mary's.. Time for an other tune as the weekend is closing in:) Close your eyes and dream away.. As the awsome Rum & Coca Cola song by The Andrews Sisters, transports you to warmer weather and summer parties under the stars.. I sure could need some of that right now, the snow keeps coming down and never seems to stop piling up outside!

Is it just me, or does the weeks seem to fly by? It leaves me a tiny hope of spring beeing here pretty soon;)

Paul Ansells Number Nine

A small taste of Saturday's concert with Paul Ansells Number Nine on Caven, Enjoy!!;)

Somewhere early in the concert..

And later on..;)

Saturday Dinner & Concert

Saturday started out with a cozy dinner and drinks at a friends house, before we headed over to Caven for an other awsome concert:) This time with Paul Ansells Number Nine, a UK/London based country, rockabilly & blues band!! We managed to get some good spots right by the stage. The concert was really awsome and it's the band that I've liked the best there so far! No need to say we had a real good time dancing, chatting and drinking the night away;) Too good time maybe, cuz Sunday went by in a haze as mentioned yesterday..

On the good side.. I'm not sure if I should mention this quite yet, before anything is sure.. But on the other side, it's hard not to spill the beans. I pulled on my white and black bird fascinator, since it fit with the outfit. But also thinking I should promote myself a bit.. Guess what!? I got someone interested in looking at the rest of my creations, for their store!!:) Very excited and a little nervous, thinking I should just cancel every social event from now and concentrate on creating more.. No time to waste... *Cross fingers* :S
