Macabre Carpenter

We haven't been too busy making new props this year, as we decided to reuse most of what we already have.. But some new things is slowly being added, to our collection of horror. I really wanted a coffin for a graveyard this year and eagerly babbled, waved my arms and sent links of what I thought would look cool, in our little graveyard.. Sometimes this eager babbeling of mine, seems to find it's way into his brain. I'm now the happy owner of a huge standing coffin, thanks to my macabre carpenter! It will be standing by the doorway, outside the saloon. Not sure yet, if it will house a scary monster, or if we should make it as a "photo booth". Where our guests can take their photo in the coffin..

"I want a coffin" I said.. And baby made a coffin.

Deadville

A small peek at last years Halloween and what we were up to.. The theme was an old western ghost town, Deadville. Good times, indeed!!

One of the installations we made, outside the barn.. Finger food on the grill.
Every fancy party serves finger food, right?
Black Death and Joe Nobody
Beer denied!
Are you scared yet?
And some monsters are beautiful.. A ghastly, spoiled dove of the west.
Your's truly, Scary Mary and my love, Voodoo John..

Out of the Dark

Bob, George, little Halloween Ghoul and all the other monsters, were pulled out from their hiding place, in our dirt basement this weekend.. We got a good head start on the decoration and are already finished with one installation and part of the bar. *Yay* So exited to have started! The creative prosess is simple. Everything is made, as we go along. I like making small stories around the installation, that explains what's going on. I think it's easier, more realistic and much more fun that way!

Of props and decoration, we thought it would be a good idea to use what we already have. Then see what we need to find or build. Since we're doing a Sailors Inn theme and our pub is a saloon, there's a few small touches that needs to be made. I packed away a box with western artifacts and took down some paintings, that just did not fit in. We will be needing some more nautical items, to complete the look and feel to the place..

How about you, have you started decorating for Halloween yet? Do you do themes? Do you have a favourite prop, or Halloween item
that you can't wait to get out?

Rattlin' Joe, just wouldn't behave..

Deadly Dolls

I stumbled over these ghastly looking dolls on Etsy, sometime before Halloween. With their gothic, gory, zombie look, they're like taken right out of any horror movie.. I think they would be a real treat to any Halloween display:) I must admit, I got a tad inspired when I saw them and been thinking about trying to make some devious dolls of my own, for next years Halloween! I think I would go for the ghoulish, victorian style of the very first doll. We'll see what I have time for.. If you're not of the crafty type, or don't have the time, you can get the dolls in the shop with the very suiting name; Creepy Dolls' Shop;) They will probably make your goulish guests feel right at home...

Here's some of my favourites..

Tour of Dead Bob's Circus of Freaks

After a really busy week, with late double shifts every day and a great birthday party with costumes on Friday. Which maybe was a bit too fun, as I spent all yesterday in the sofa in fetus position.. Craving water, coffee, food, cake, chips, more water, left over candy from Halloween and anything else I could get my paws on.. I've finally been able to go through my Halloween photos. And I'm ready to give you a small tour of the freak show...

Sadly no one thought of taking any photos of the toilet this year. My love made a huge, creepy looking, human spider. Which we installed in a big spider web, hanging over the toilet. Next to him we hang up one of these talking sculls, rambling on about "you're in a very scary", Hey you", "I'm watching you" and so on.. In the background of this insanity, I had installed a cd player with haunted Halloween sounds... When your guests don't want to go alone to the toilet, you know you did a good job! lol

My man pulled out the whiskey and some African Wild Cream, the party exploded like a bundle of firework and it all got quite wild! People wrestling on the floor and crawling around playing undead.. Props being pulled down and worn.. Bearded lady with a feather mustache, hers got lost in the wrestling with the chained ghoul.. One of our guests told me that on one point of the night she'd been in the toilet hangover and sick, worshipping the toilet God, while the talking scull was going off, on and on and on.... With having no idea how to turn it off. Talk about being damned!

It all went on very intense, before it suddenly collapsed. People got tiered and fell asleep, or went home.. I found myself alone, bright awake, with my sleeping man and sister in the sofa. With nothing else to do, partying on by myself, playing my Halloween music, drinking beer, an enormous amount of coffee and watching the passed out zombies.. Hah!! Maybe I should invite some real zombies next time, I'm sure they last the night out...

All cozy and nice..

Getting the buffet of severed fingers and heart out..

Dinner's served

That learned her not to stick her fingers into other peoples business..

Small pets of the house

Some late guest of the carni was unlucky enough to "stumble" right into the snakenest..

Boooo...

Tsk, tsk! Poor souls, starved to death. They didn't seem to have much of an appetite..

Bert, the human spider..

He got all wrapped up in the bearded lady.. Cut up, packed away and chained down in an old suitcase:)

Flying bat in carni lights

Little did he know when he arrived the carni, that he would end his life being the wind chime..

Circus of Horrors..

The question is not; what is the future.. Are you sure there is a future?

Dead end... Don't say you didn't get warned..

Now.. Are you sure you wanna ring the doorbell..?

Sculls Long gone..

When I came home yesterday, my love had cleaned away all the lovely, gory, home decor... All gone and packed away on the attic:/ Veird feeling, empty and too neet! lol Wasn't sure if I should pat him and say well done, or run up there and pull it all out again... Hmmm I might sneek up there and pull out just a few sculls this weekend;) Hahha

Devious Kitchen Decor

I finally had some time to look through my photos this morning and selected a few showing our eerie kitchen decor for Halloween this year.. The photos was taken the day after the Halloween party, as I was way too busy with makeup and costume before the party to even think about taking photos. In fact I had forgotten all about it till late Sunday night.. Then we had allready taken down a few props in order to get to our kitchen utensils out, so we could get something else than severed fingers and knuckles on the menu! Hahha

I decided to reuse some ideas that I liked from last years Halloween kitchen and mix in a few new ones. We had kept all the jars and bottles that we made last year, with the awsome labels from Love Manor. I really love those labels and all the wonderful little details on them! They were once again put up on display on our kitchen shelfs and through out the appartment. I also added a few details to get the right circus or freak show feel.. Rather cozy you ask me;)

There will come more photos soon! Till then, enjoy the tour of our eerie looking kitchen...

Crow picking on bones, keeping watch from one of our top shelfs..

Fingerfries, jar with human flesh, earth worms and coffee... Tea anyone?

Our freak show kitchen pet and old Bob, watching over our precious tea and coffee..

Ay there! What ya looking at?! Shrunken sculls peeping out from the pasta box..

Motion started hand in a lab jar.. Splishing around to spooky sounds:)

It kept freaking the guests out all night!

An annoying dinner guest we had to get rid off..

A severed finger for your drink, sir?

Part of the kitchen got moved out into the hallway, to get more space for the creepy stuff, guests and posters:) Living in small spaces, you find your self moving things around, not really sure where to put it.. Good thing we have some space out there!

All Hollow's Eve Is closing In

You can tell by the numerous ghouls and monsters popping up around the house... We've been busy mad , little monster creators over the last few weeks! Last night we got most of the indoors props up, but we still have a few things left, believe it or not. Such a small place, should think it wouldn't take much time.. lol But it does! It has been pouring down the last few days, which makes it difficult to put up the props outside. They would just wash away in the rain, as their mostly made out of toilet paper and card board. I was hoping it would be dryer today, but it's still redicelously wet and rainy.. Hope for a better day tomorrow! If not, we'll have to rethink the whole outside area, which sucks... On the bright side, more props and gore inside;)

Unfinished, but getting there..

Heart on a bed of fingers, yum!

Part of our freak show troop...

Knock, knock...

A knock on the door... Who's there? It's Bozo, the clown! He just loves sad, little children and toddlers that needs to be cheered up...

It's definitely starting to look a bit spooky around the house..
