Thanksgiving Saturday:)
I'll be celebrating my first Thanksgiving today, it will also be the first together with my love. It's probably one of the last american holidays that hasn't made it over here yet.. Hmmm something tells me it's probably just matter of time before the turkey comes knocking on our door;) People love celebrations and and very much need it I think.. Thanksgiving is celebrated the last Thursday of November and it's a perfect time to squize in a celebration in this part of the world, as the the dark is pretty much consuming us this time of the year. I think the sun goes down around 03:00-03:30 at the moment... Incredible. I don't think I'll ever get used to it, it's the same when summer come and we have those long, bright everlasting days.. Beautiful and magical! But today I'll raise the glass and do a toast for the old tradition that started out long time ago, when some of the first settelers came over to America. The indians helped them out and showed them how to catch eel and grow corn to survive the harsh winters. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated to thank God for helping the pilgrims for surviving the first brutal winter and lasted for no more than three days! Think I'll go for the one day..
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!;)

Horror-mingos..
The pink plastic birds which stands as the very symbol of the front yard lawns of rich, retired oldies in Florida, the happy 50's and the pop culture has now risen from it's pink grave!! It has turned black and has gotten slightly bonified after having being burried in the lawns for decades. The Skel-a-flamingo is the perfect decoration for any lush suburb garden, tiny city balcony or the medievil castle park that you may own, if your lucky enough to have one of those!
Skel-a-flamingos from the ultimate flamingo shop The Pink Flamingo.
"R.I.P. We hardly knew thee".. "Feather-less friends, pink-less forever"..
Skele-Mingo kit from The Pink Flamingo for 26.95 a pair and a coffin to go in
A photo tutorial which shows how to install red led lights into the flamingos chilling, black eyesockets.. Perfect for that haunted Halloween lawn! Thinking out next years little dark surpises;)
Not quite your cup of tea? Do not fall in dispare, we also have the O so ever charming Angel Mingo and Devil Mingo.. (The Pink Flamingo).
Or you can make your own little Zombie Flamingo to lurk in the dark of the back yard..

Ghoulish Christmas decor for the brave;)
Aren't these Christmas ornaments the sweetest? They'll cause the kids to cry and your mother to cough her coffee back up! haha Matter of fact, I think that they would give a great balance to all the traditional, sweet and blingbling ornaments that we have stacked up in our basements and attics for this time of the year. If I wasn't so damn far away from Canada, I would love to get my paws on some of the dark, devious but O so ghoulish sugar coated Christmas decoration from the canadian artist based in Toronto, My Ghoul Friday. I'm waiting with excitement for the next horrific holiday pieces.. I'm sure it isn't the last cuties we'll see before Christmas bells once again are ringing and Santa gets stuck in the chimney;) In the mean while I'm chewing on the idea to get some friends together for a Christmas work shop/wine eve....

The Magical World of Benita Winckler..
Surfing the web and various sites for art I'm constantly coming over great work that I'd like to share with you all. Funny enough, maybe not surprisingly most of the artists that I'm attracted to, is the same artists behind pieces that I've found really beautiful in the past, just without knowing who made them.. A bit like treasure hunting, I'm finding the rest of that treasure chest that the jewel that I've admired for years originated from.. My last find is Benita Winckler, a very talented digital artist located in Berlin, Germany. I find myself wandering into her world, sucked in by a magical force.. Her art is mind blowing, mystical and beautiful, perfect down to the tiniest, little detail... I never wanna leave.
